Director Theresa Thomasberger, born in Austria in 1992, studied acting direction at the »Ernst Busch« Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she presented her graduation production »Pussy, King of the Pirates« after Kathy Acker in 2022. Previously studied language arts and scenic writing at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Berlin University of the Arts, and philosophy at the University of Vienna. She directed, among others, the world premiere of Svenja Viola Bungarten's text »Maria Magda« at Theater Münster, »Die Guten« by Rebekka Kricheldorf at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg and »Männerphantasien« after Klaus Theweleit at Volksbühne Berlin. In the spring of 2023, she held a teaching position for acting at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. For the international Schillertage 2021 at the NTM she created the video work »Geisterspiele: Nänie« in cooperation with Schiefer Film. She was a scholarship holder of the Berlin Theatertreffen Blog, prize winner at the Newcomer Competition of Theater Drachengasse and is a member of the collective hfs_ultras. In the season 23.24 she is directing, apart from Theater Aachen, at Deutsches Theater Berlin, NTM Mannheim and Schauspielhaus Wien.
