Who would you like to have dinner with?
With Gioachino Rossini. I love his music and he was a fantastic cook. After dinner, we would probably joke about Wagner.
What was the most absurd moment you've ever experienced on or off stage?
At a performance of “Madama Butterfly”, Butterfly's child, who was supposed to run into my arms, came running towards me and shouted (clearly audible) “I have to go to!!!!” - the orchestra then played on for a few bars without singing because everyone on stage was trying to suppress their laughter.
