Pauline Jacob

Pauline Jacob works as a singer/performer and author in the border areas of opera. As a founding member of the feminist music theatre collective staatsoper24, her focus is on new forms of music theatre and the critical-feminist re-examination of the opera canon. This has led to the music theatre evenings »Prächtiger Vogel Leierschwanz« and »DEIN OXY« or the musical radio plays »Hot Flashes« (DLF Kultur) and »Pamelas Potenziale« (WDR3). As a performer, she has made guest appearances at the Junge Deutsche Oper Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Schauspiel Hannover, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Neuköllner Oper Berlin, among others. She studied classical singing at the Musikhochschule in Hamburg and graduated with a Master's degree in Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen in 2023. She was and is a scholarship holder in the MasterPlus and stArt.up programmes of the Claussen-Simon Foundation, in the Akademie Musiktheater Heute and with staatsoper24 in the mentoring programme of the German Cultural Council.

What is your favourite place in Aachen?

My father-in-law's garden in Verlautenheide, from where you have a wonderful view of the city - especially on New Year's Eve.

Who would you like to have dinner with?

With my boyfriend! We have a baby and a little daughter - well, need I say more?
