Malcolm Kemp studied jazz guitar at the Maastricht Conservatory, where he completed his bachelor's degree and postgraduate studies. After his studies, he took composition lessons with composer Michael Reudenbach. During this time he began composing film scores. In the meantime, he has composed the music for numerous feature films, short films, documentaries, commercials and art films. He is also active as an arranger and orchestrator, among others for the Aachen Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss. Furthermore, Malcolm Kemp is part of the hip-hop combo Dlé, whose debut album was released on Kreismusik in 2016. Since 2005 he has worked in various projects for Theater Aachen. Since the 08.09 season, he has been engaged as the musical director of the theatre, where he has been responsible for productions including »Der Meister und Margarita«, »Alles für Euch. Der Autohausschlager«, »Faust 1+2 #konzentriert« and »Nina Hagen - Fürchtet Euch nicht!«, »Deutschstunde«, »Als ich einmal tot war und Martin L. Gore mich nicht besuchen kam«, »Nicht mit uns!«, »Nachtstück«, »Android Ergo Sum«, »Am Königsweg« and the musical »Lazarus« by David Bowie.
