Lucien Strauch studied literature, philosophy and art history in Berlin and Frankfurt a. M. and has worked at the Berliner Volksbühne, Opéra de Lyon, La Monnaie/De Munt Brussels, Ruhrtriennale, Wiener Festwochen, Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne and for the Berliner Festspiele Theatertreffen. His working practice includes play development and experimental music theater formats as well as classical opera repertoire. Most recently, he created »Fremder als Mond« at the Berliner Ensemble with texts by Bertolt Brecht and music by Hanns Eisler, among others. As a freelance author, Lucien Strauch writes for Theater der Zeit. He was a fellow of the Dramaturgische Gesellschaft and a jury member of the ITI Prize 2024. As of season 23.24, he is dramaturg for theater and opera at Theater Aachen.
