Laia Vallés

Spanish soprano Laia Vallés earned her master's degree in opera at the Conservatory of Music in Valencia. Since then, she has performed in roles such as Despina (»Così fan tutte«), Antonia (»Les contes d'Hoffmann«), Zweite Dame (»Die Zauberflöte«), and Micaëla (»Carmen«). She has also performed in numerous oratorios and recitals, including Mozart's »Krönungsmesse« and »Requiem«, Dvořak's »Te Deum«, and Handel's »Messias«. From 2020 to 2023, she was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Stuttgart State Opera, singing roles such as Gianetta (»L'elisir d'amore«), Barbarina (»Le nozze di Figaro«), Elisabeth (»Les enfants terribles«), Frasquita (»Carmen«), Clarine (»Platée«), and Taumännchen (»Hänsel und Gretel«). At the 2022 Tenor Viñas Competition, she won three special prizes: Best Spanish Singer, the Audience Prize, and a Special Prize. Since the 2023–2024 season, she has been engaged at Theater Aachen, where she has appeared in productions such as »King Arthur«, Musetta in »La Bohème«, »Il viaggio a Reims«, and »Zaïde/Adama«. In July 2024, she won three first prizes at the 30th Riccardo Zandonai Competition, and in November 24, she was named »Most Promising Young Singer of the Year« by the Spanish magazine Ópera Actual. 

Last season (24.25), she appeared on stage as Diane (»Orphée aux enfers«) and delighted audiences as Pamina in »Die Zauberflöte«. This season, she can be seen as Adina in »L'elisir d'amore« and in »Johannes-Passion«, among other roles.
