Baritone Jorge Ruvalcaba began his vocal training at the Escuela Superior de Música in Mexico and graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance in 2020. In addition to his international concert activities, he has sung the title roles in »Onegin« Theatre Pforzheim) and in »Gianni Schicci« and has taken on the roles of Schaunard (»La Bohème«), Mercutio ("Roméo et Juliette«) and Il Conte (»Le nozze di Figaro«) in Berlin and Eisenstein (»Die Fledermaus«) in San Francisco. From 2020 to 2023 Jorge Ruvalcaba was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Stuttgart State Opera, where he performed roles such as Albert (»Werther«), Moralès (»Carmen«), Prince Yamadori (»Madama Butterfly«), Herr Eiler (»Der Schauspieldirektor«), as well as Fiorello (»Il barbiere di Siviglia«). Since the 23.24 season, Jorge Ruvalcaba has been engaged in the music theatre ensemble of the Theater Aachen.

Why do you do theatre?
Because it allows me to dive into different worlds and characters where I can understand life from a different perspective.

What kind of future do you dream of?
A world of justice, where every individual is consistently treated with respect, as equals. A future where governments prioritise quality education, promoting social development and progress.

What is your favourite place in Aachen?
The Aachen Cathedral.

What profession would you pursue in a parallel universe?
Bio-engineer.
