Jelena Rakić

The lyric coloratura soprano Jelena Rakić grew up in Serbia and studied piano and singing at the University of Music Arts in Belgrade at the same time. During her studies, she won several national and international singing competitions and was named a young artist by the Ministry of Culture. She then began further studies at the University of Music in Mannheim with Prof. Stamenković, specialising in opera. In 2009 she won the third prize and special audience prize at the International Singing Competition of the Opera Academy in Baden-Baden. Since the 11.12 season, Raki'c has been a member of the Aachen Theatre ensemble, where she has performed as Adele in »Fledermaus«, Susanna in Mozart's »Le Nozze de Figaro«, Marzelline in Beethoven's »Fideleo«, Morgana in »Alcina« and others.
