Charlotte Lorenz

Charlotte Lorenz was born near Frankfurt/Main and grew up bilingual, German-French. She studied Theatre & Cultural Studies in Munich, Rennes and Paris. During this time she became interested in creating contemporary, pop-cultural rituals. From 2016 to 2020 she studied directing at the HfS Ernst Busch. After her directing diploma, in which she dealt with the controversial scientist Wilhelm Reich, an engagement at the ITZ Tübingen followed in 2022. There she staged »Making Of« based on contemporary stories of female impostors. In the autumn of the same year, she presented »Alles in Ordnung - Vom Ende der Polizei« at TD Berlin, which was invited to the Performing Arts Festival 2023. 2023 also featured her world premiere of »Grelle Tage« by author Selma Matter at Schauspielhaus Wien. In »Das Leben ein Clown« she continues an exploration of the resistant potential of the clown figure together with Jakob D'Aprile and Josefin Kwon.
