Anaïs Durand-Mauptit works as a German-French director and performer both in municipal theatres and in the independent scene. Her works are characterised by music and multilingualism and seek moments of sensuality in their engagement with the present. She grew up in Paris, where she first studied acting. She then completed a Franco-German degree in literature and linguistics at the University of Bonn in collaboration with the Sorbonne IV in Paris. In 2021 she will complete her studies in directing at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg. In 2022 she founds her company MADone and develops the play «RIP Refrain, a fable in G minor« in collaboration with Lucie Dordoigne under the stage name LABANDE DORDUR. Since the 21.20 season, she has directed at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Landungsbrücken Frankfurt, Theater der Stadt Aalen and Stadttheater Gießen, among others. In season 23.24 she is adapting »The Art of Joy« by Goliarda Sapienza for the Theater Aachen.
