Amy Schillings

The Dutch soprano Amy Schillings began her bachelor's degree in singing at the Maastricht Conservatory (NL). She continued her studies at the Cologne-Aachen University of Music and Dance and graduated cum laude with a Master's degree in musical theatre vocals. She then worked in the opera choir of La Monnaie in Brussels (BE). She has been a member of the Aachen Theater Opera Chorus since 2024.

Why do you do opera?

I do opera because I love this Gesamtkunstwerk of music. It's so special that we, as singers, can work in such a multifaceted way and combine singing with acting!

Who would you like to have dinner with?

La Divina: Maria Callas.

What future do you dream of?

I dream of a future in which you are happy and content with your favorite people around you! Above all, I also hope that we can do and enjoy our beautiful and special profession forever!
